West Jersey - Liberty recap October 8, 2013
Ewing scaled the state rankings by moving to 279 from 314 this week, the biggest jump in West Jersey - Liberty. The Blue Devils were able to move up by falling to Lawrence 20-0.
Holy Cross took down New Egypt 50-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Devauntay Ellis provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Ewing lost to the Cardinals. Ellis' key target this week was Tyler Julious, who caught 2 passes for 11 yards.
Andrew Aromando put up the best numbers through the air as Robbinsville lost to Florence Township Memorial. He finished with 6 completions for 46 yards. Aromando's favorite target this week was Darron Daniel, who caught 3 passes for 19 yards.
The Ravens' Aromando and Daniel led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Aromando has thrown for 412 yards this season, while Daniel has 13 catches for 212 yards. Brad Hawtorne from Cinnaminson leads the league in rushing with 446 yards.
As it stands, the Pirates are in third, while the Lancers are in first.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Cinnaminson takes on Holy Cross. Mario Patrizi's team has allowed 50 points this season, while Frank Holmes' team has given up 40. The Pirates allowed 6 points last week as they bested Burlington City.
Drew Besler's team made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,437 from 11,749. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 20-0 victory over the Blue Devils last week.
