Interlake is 1-9 against Bellevue since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Saints are taking a road trip to challenge the Wolverines at 4:30 p.m. Interlake has given up an average of 8 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Interlake came up short against Newport - Bellevue on Monday, falling 14-3.
Madeline Knight (2028) was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Bellevue put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Foster 15-5. That's two games straight that the Wolverines have won by exactly ten runs.
Silvia Sohn made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Bellevue got a massive performance out of Mia Kelley, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Carmen Aguado-Scheyer, who went 2-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and one stolen base.
Bellevue kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Foster only managed five.
Interlake's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Bellevue, their record is now 6-0.
Wednesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Interlake has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .526. However, it's not like Bellevue struggles in that department as they've averaged .620. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Interlake got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 against Bellevue by a conclusive 20-10 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Saints since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
