Basketball Recap: Ocean View Comes Up Short

Ocean View lost against Corona del Mar back in April of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Ocean View Seahawks took a blow against the Corona del Mar Sea Kings, falling 79-40. While losing is never fun, the Seahawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 849th, while the Sea Kings are ranked 57th).

Despite the loss, Ocean View had strong showings from Zeke Case, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards, and Logan Covarrubias, who posted 11 points. Case is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last four games he's played.

Ocean View is on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8. As for Corona del Mar, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Ocean View wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 51-39 win against La Quinta on the 12th. As for Corona del Mar, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 84-27 victory against Savanna on the 12th.
