Video: Bronny James and Zaire Wade highlights Sons of NBA legends will enroll at Sierra Canyon starting in the fall.
Twitter almost exploded Wednesday with the news that James and Wade will again share the basketball court ... only this time it will be sons LeBron Jr. and Zaire at Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.).
Along with LeBron Jr. and Zaire, we take a look at high-profile sons of NBA All-Stars to keep an eye on next season in high school basketball.
1. LeBron James Jr., Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.)Father: LeBron James
Bronny has accumulated a following before ever stepping foot in a high school basketball gym, mostly because his father is one of the greatest players in the game's history. Time will tell if Bronny lives up to the lofty expectations, but for now we can sit back and enjoy as the Class of 2023 guard enters the high school ranks for the Trailblazers.
2. Zaire Wade, Sierra CanyonFather: Dwyane Wade
Although Zaire has offers from three Division I schools (DePaul, Rhode Island, Nebraska), this shouldn't come as a huge concern for the Class of 2020 guard. His father also had three offers out of high school. Look for the offers to increase throughout his senior year as the Trailblazers compete in top national events and the media spotlight will shine bright on the duo of Wade and James.
Father: Shaquille O'Neal
Expected to take a major step forward this year as a young Crossroads group struggled to gain its footing last season, finishing 14-12. Without a college offer, O'Neal will look to make his own name this season and gain interest from college scouts. The recent announcement that expected teammate Bronny James would play at Sierra Canyon may free up some more time on the ball for Shaqir this season.
Father: Shareef Abdur-Rahim
The highest-rated prospect on this list, Abdur-Rahim is No. 60 in the 247Sports composite rankings with over 30 Division I offers. The son of the former NBA All-Star who spent time with the Sacramento Kings has made a name for himself in New Jersey. He enters his senior year with lofty expectations to continue to produce at a high level.
Father: Jamal Mashburn
Mashburn has established himself as a legitimate Division I prospect with 10 high-major offers and 14 offers overall. He's ranked as the 128th best prospect in the class of 2020 according to 247Sports. The offers will likely keep coming as the talented point guard develops at one of the top prep schools in the nation.
