This season hasn't been kind to the Clarkson/Leigh Patriots, who are still winless after their 11th matchup. They were the victim of a rough 69-44 loss at the hands of North Bend Central on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Clarkson/Leigh can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while North Bend Central is ranked 69th).
Despite the loss, Clarkson/Leigh saw an underclassman step up: Kyle McMullin scored 11 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Korbin Lemburg, who scored seven points.
Even though they lost, Clarkson/Leigh were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. This was only their seventh loss (out of seven games) when they've passed the ball that well.
Clarkson/Leigh's defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-11. As for North Bend Central, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.
Clarkson/Leigh will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Tekamah-Herman at 4:00 p.m. As for North Bend Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Arlington on Tuesday.
