The Windthorst Trojans were the 59-47 winner over the Mineral Wells Rams when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. Windthorst took a 51-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mineral Wells on Thursday. It was the first time this season that Windthorst let down their fans at home.
Mineral Wells got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Caitlyn Colwell out in front who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. Colwell continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Rindy Carter, who scored ten points.
Windthorst's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4. As for Mineral Wells, their win bumped their record up to 11-9.
Windthorst will finish 2023 at home by hosting Jacksboro at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jacksboro is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games. Mineral Wells won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Vernon at 3:00 p.m. on December 29th.
