After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Syracuse, the Fairbury Jeffs were happy to have found some success on Monday. They strolled past Auburn with points to spare, taking the game 50-31. That looming 50-31 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Fairbury yet this season.
Fairbury got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Izzy Ohlde out in front who scored 17 points. That's the first time this season that Ohlde scored 15 or more points. Micah Friesen was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds.
Fairbury's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Auburn, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairbury won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Sandy Creek at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Sandy Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Saturday. Auburn won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Falls City at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
