Atlantic Christian will head into Friday's matchup hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 23-point drubbing they dealt Coventry Christian on Friday. Atlantic Christian was the clear victor by a 44-21 margin over Coventry Christian. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 219th in New Jersey, while Coventry Christian are ranked 659th in Pennsylvania), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Gianna Flynn was her usual excellent self, putting up 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Caelyn Domsic, who posted eight points.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask The Pilgrim Academy). Everything went their way against Pinelands Regional on Tuesday as The Pilgrim Academy made off with a 43-18 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Pioneers have posted since February 20, 2024.
The Pilgrim Academy's win came from a few key players Atlantic Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Coretta Kruse, who went 6 of 11 en route to 12 points and six boards. Isabella Cosme was another key player, posting five points and eight steals.
The Pilgrim Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive contests dating back to last season.
The Pilgrim Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.5 points per game. As for Atlantic Christian, they now have a winning record of 6-5-1.
