The Escambia County Blue Devils won the last time they faced the T.R. Miller Tigers, and things went their way on Monday too. Escambia County took down T.R. Miller 52-33. Given Escambia County's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while T.R. Miller is ranked 297th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Stephen Williams was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 11 straight games. Another player making a difference was Cleo Bolar jr., who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Escambia County is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for T.R. Miller, their loss dropped their record down to 11-13.
Escambia County will head out on the road to challenge Jackson at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Jackson will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something Escambia County surely won't give up without a fight. T.R. Miller does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
