Softball Recap: Quitman Has No Trouble Against Cedar Creek

Quitman barely beat Cedar Creek the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolverines were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Cougars on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Hallie Kate Pullig and Karley Huckaby did most of the damage at the plate: Pullig went 3-for-4 with one home run and four runs, while Huckaby went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Huckaby has posted since back in March of 2024. Kinsley Ponder was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

The win made it two in a row for Quitman and bumps their season record up to 17-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Cedar Creek, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Quitman will venture away from home to challenge Oak Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cedar Creek, they will head out to square off against Captain Shreve at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
