Six Rivers recap Oct. 23, 2012
Potosi extended the longest winning streak in Six Rivers this week by beating North Crawford, 54-24. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Chieftains.
Highland's dynamic duo of Blake Bodenstein and Blake Bomkamp proved tough for Ithaca to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Bodenstein threw for 146 yards and three touchdowns and Bomkamp had 73 yards receiving. Branden McCollough helped Highland's passing attack out by catching two balls for 42 yards.
Jase Udelhofen was the most productive running back in the league this week. In seven carries, he ran for 195 yards as Potosi defeated the Bulldogs. Alex Wright also contributed to the rushing game with 87 yards on the ground.
5-foot-9 quarterback Tim Fritz of Mark Siegert's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1279. He has also thrown 20 touchdowns. On the ground, Highland's Caleb Yager has rushed for 1245 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Josh Korte. The Benton/Scales Mound IL star has 10 catches for 393 yards.
The top two teams in Six Rivers will face off this week when first place Potosi takes on second place Highland. The Chieftains defeated the Trojans last week, while the Cardinals topped Ithaca.
Nathan Houtakker has rushed for 932 yards on 158 carries so far this year.

The Chieftains led the league in scoring this week after putting up 54 points on Eric Hady's team. Fritz threw for 94 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 29 yards in the win.
