Governor's School for Science & Math was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 42-24 bruising from the Riverwalk Academy Lions. One positive for the Eagles, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Riverwalk Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Levi Staton, who posted 15 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Adam Johnson, who had four points in addition to nine boards and five steals.
Governor's School for Science & Math's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Riverwalk Academy, their win ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Governor's School for Science & Math will square off against Lewisville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lewisville will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Governor's School for Science & Math surely won't give up without a fight. As for Riverwalk Academy, they will face off against C.A. Johnson at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
