It was a good run, but the Arcata Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 44-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fortuna. Arcata was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Fortuna apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played on January 2nd.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dawson Vallerga, who scored 11 points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Luke Lemke, who scored six points along with three steals.
Arcata's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Fortuna, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arcata will face off against Justin-Siena at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fortuna, they will head out on the road to square off against McKinleyville at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
