Freedom is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since April 3rd on Friday. They lost 11-5 to Battlefield. The Eagles have struggled against the Bobcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.
Meanwhile, Charles J. Colgan came tearing into Tuesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Bulldogs. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Dorsey Grose made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kayla Boatwright, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kayli Lamboy, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.
