Simsboro is a perfect 7-0 against Plain Dealing since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lions at 5:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.
Simsboro's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Saturday, when they got past Maurepas' usually-dominant pitching crew. The Tigers were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Wolves. Considering the Tigers have won three contests by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Noah Thomas made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Thomas was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Simsboro's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 1-3-1 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Simsboro got a big performance out of Chris Harrell, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The Tigers are undefeated when Harrell posts two or more runs, but 1-3-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Braylon Gipson, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Simsboro always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .619. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2025.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Plain Dealing made sure to put some runs up on the board against Bossier on Thursday. The Lions were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over the Bearkats. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Lions' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Cade DeMoss was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Marion Baker-Shepard was incredible, getting on base in three of his six plate appearances with six stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.3 stolen bases per game. AJ Taylor was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
Simsboro has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Plain Dealing, the win got them back to even at 2-2-1.
Everything went Simsboro's way against Plain Dealing in their previous meeting back in March of 2025, as Simsboro made off with a 16-2 victory. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
