If the Fairfield Lions were riding high off their 54-32 takedown of the Manchester Greyhounds last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Fairfield received a tough blow on Monday as they fell 64-47 to Hillsboro. Fairfield was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Hillsboro apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hillsboro to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rylie Scott, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Scott has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Peighton Bledsoe, who scored 11 points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Fairfield has fallen quite a ways from their 19-6 record last season and are now at 4-9. As for Hillsboro, they pushed their record up to 7-8 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Fairfield will take on Whiteoak at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Whiteoak has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Hillsboro, they will head out on the road to challenge Miami Trace at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
