After a string of three wins, the Timberland Wolves's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Berkeley by a score of 31-28. Timberland has not had much luck with Berkeley recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Timberland's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was China Greene, who scored ten points along with five steals. Greene is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Kennedy Ravenell was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Berkeley was led to victory by Riley Guerry and Imani Levey. Guerry scored 11 points, while Levey scored seven points along with three steals and three blocks. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for her.
Timberland's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Berkeley, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
Timberland is on the road again on Friday and play against Fairfield Central at 4:00 p.m. on December 22nd. Berkeley will take on Cardinal Newman in a holiday battle at 2:30 p.m. on Friday at. Cardinal Newman will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 146th, while Berkeley is ranked 16th).
