New Holstein has gone 9-1 against Kiel recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Huskies will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Raiders at 4:30 p.m. New Holstein is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
New Holstein's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Sheboygan Falls with a sharp 14-0 victory. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Reese Kraus made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.
In other batting news, New Holstein got a big performance out of Kourtney Karls, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Karls has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mady Sippel, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
New Holstein always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Kiel is still winless after their contest against Two Rivers on Thursday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Purple Raiders.
Like New Holstein, Kiel also got a great game from a two-way player: Liz Neils. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Neils has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double.
Neils wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Emma Rolkosky, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Kiel's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for New Holstein, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
Kiel's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: New Holstein has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10 hits per game. It's a different story for Kiel, though, as they've been averaging 9.4 hits. Given New Holstein's sizable advantage in that area, the Raiders will need to find a way to close that gap.
New Holstein took their win against Kiel in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 8-0 score. Will the Huskies repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
