The South Harrison Hawks had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 72-60 win over Roane County on Tuesday. South Harrison's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Shaun Caldwell, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Caldwell scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Will Odle, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
South Harrison's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Roane County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Harrison will stay at home for another game and welcome Liberty at 4:45 p.m. on January 6th. Roane County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Wirt County at 7:30 p.m. on January 3rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in West Virginia (Wirt County is ranked 62nd, while Roane County is ranked 80th).
