Basketball Recap: Brock Akin's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Heritage Academy Gateway over Premier Prep- Phhoenix

After flying high against Mission Heights Prep last Friday, Heritage Academy Gateway came back down to earth. The Heritage Academy Gateway Heroes lost 63-40 to the Premier Prep- PHHoenix Fire on Thursday. The Heroes were down 52-31 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Heritage Academy Gateway lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Brock Akin, who posted nine points and seven rebounds. Akin is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last three games he's played. Ethan Wright was another key player, putting up nine points.

Heritage Academy Gateway's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Premier Prep- PHHoenix, their victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

Heritage Academy Gateway wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 67-38 loss against East Valley Athletes for Christ on the 16th. As for Premier Prep- PHHoenix, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Learning Foundation & Performing Arts at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th.
