Baseball Recap: Richland Extends Winning Streak to Three

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Richland ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Azle Hornets 4-3. The victory was familiar territory for the Royals, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Cooper Carroll looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Richland's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was LJ Allison, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Allison hit this season.

Richland now has a winning record of 13-12-1. As for Azle, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-11.

Coming up, Richland will head out to face off against Paschal at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Royals' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Azle, they are taking a road trip to challenge Haltom at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Hornets are facing the Buffalos at the right time seeing as the Buffalos are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
