Murray may have come out ahead in their last game, but they shouldn't get too cocky given who is up next. On Friday they take on Mayfield at Murray Middle School at 7:00 PM. Each team will be battling to keep a win streak alive as Murray skips in on three wins and Mayfield on six.
You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out between Murray and Russellville. Everything came up roses for Murray against Russellville last Friday as the team secured a 59-12 win. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-6.
Meanwhile, Mayfield put the finishing touches on their 5th blowout victory of the season. They took their contest against Corbin by a conclusive 45-21 score. Mayfield were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Murray took a serious blow against Mayfield the last time the two teams met, falling 21-56. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown.
