Baseball Recap: Fall River Triumphs

While Fall River's win against Parkview wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pirates had just enough and edged out the Vikings 11-10. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Connor Veith made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those stolen bases were his first of the season.

In other batting news, Fall River let Jayden Abegglen and Ethan Stai run wild. Abegglen went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Stai went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. That triple was Stai's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Julian Ramczyk, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Fall River kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.

Fall River's record now sits at 5-1. As for Parkview, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fall River will take on Markesan at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hornets will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Parkview, they will square off against Beloit Memorial at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings are facing the Purple Knights at the right time seeing as the Purple Knights are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
