Baseball Game Preview: Harlingen South Hawks vs. Edcouch-Elsa Yellowjackets

For the second straight game, Harlingen South will face off against Edcouch-Elsa. Harlingen South will head out on the road to take on Edcouch-Elsa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Harlingen South has four straight wins, Edcouch-Elsa has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Aundr? Guadarrama was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run.

In other batting news, Harlingen South got a big performance out of Daniel Lopez, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Kris Cruz, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3.

Harlingen South always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Edcouch-Elsa only posted an OBP of .273.
