Softball Recap: Valley Extends Winning Streak to Three

Valley waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Southern Trojans get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. That's two games straight that the Vikings have won by exactly 15 runs.

Makenna Perry was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Valley got a massive performance out of Natalie Saint Louis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Saint Louis has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Abigail Muncy was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .733. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .733 or higher in three consecutive games.

Valley's record now sits at 7-17. As for Southern, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-16.

Coming up, Valley's homestand will continue as they prepare to take on Fairdale at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Southern does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
