The Windham Whippets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They walked away with an 81-70 win over Windham RVT. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Windham got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tahj Jones out in front who scored 21 points along with nine assists and eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Green, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds.
Several Mighty Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Colby Dunnack, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 20 rebounds. Dunnack has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Desmen Gaston was another key contributor, scoring 24 points.
The win makes it two in a row for Windham and bumps their season record up to 6-4. As for Windham RVT, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 6-4.
Windham will be playing at home against Lyman Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Windham RVT won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Vinal RVT at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Vinal RVT comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
