The Hamburg Hawks will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Minersville Battlin' Miners at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Last Friday, Hamburg was beaten by Wyomissing 62-27. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hamburg has scored all season.
Minersville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 25 points or more this season. They blew past Susquenita 53-27. Winning may never get old, but Minersville sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Minersville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dante Carr out in front who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and six steals. The game was Carr's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Bradley Kostishak, who scored 16 points.
Hamburg has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Minersville, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
