The Petrolia Pirates lost against the Graford Rabbits back in December of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Petrolia ended up on the wrong side of a rough 45-23 walloping at the hands of Graford. While losing is never fun, Petrolia can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1003rd, while Graford is ranked 340th).
Despite the loss, Petrolia saw an underclassman step up: Sadie Baber scored 4 points along with 3 steals.
Petrolia has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Graford, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.
Petrolia is on the road again on Saturday and play against Sacred Heart at 11:00 a.m. on December 2nd. As for Graford, they will face off against Saint Jo at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Saint Jo is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
