It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Capital Cougars can now relate to. They suffered a tough 62-38 defeat at the hands of the Thunder on Friday. Capital was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Mountain View apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2017.
Mountain View's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Layla Senderson, who scored 16 points along with three steals. Senderson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Camaria Brown, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Capital's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Mountain View, they pushed their record up to 16-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Capital does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mountain View, they will head out on the road to square off against Peninsula at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Washington (Peninsula is ranked 74th, while Mountain View is ranked 64th).
