The J.F. Webb Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They fell just short of Warren County by a score of 59-56. J.F. Webb was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Warren County apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
J.F. Webb's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Micah Allen, who scored 13 points along with eight steals. Those eight steals set a new season-high mark for him. Joshua Barnette was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds.
Aaron Bolton was his usual excellent self, scoring 33 points along with seven rebounds and three steals for Warren County. The contest was Bolton's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kamari Nicholson, who scored nine points along with 15 rebounds and four blocks.
J.F. Webb bumped their record down to 1-8 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Warren County, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. J.F. Webb will take on South Granville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in South Granville's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Warren County, they will be playing at home against Northampton County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Northampton County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Friday.
