The Carolina M Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Chatham HomeSchool on the road and fell 77-28. Carolina M was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-16.
Jacob Kirby was nothing short of spectacular for Chatham HomeSchool: he went 7 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kirby has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Johnson, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.
Chatham HomeSchool used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Carolina M. And. The pair took full advantage of the opportunity: Harry Cain scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals, while he scored six points along with nine rebounds.
Carolina M has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Chatham HomeSchool, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 22-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carolina M will take on Cristo Rey Research Triangle at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chatham HomeSchool, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Surry HomeSchool at 6:30 p.m. on February 29th.
