HUMBLE, Texas - After taking the lead in the fourth quarter,
Atascocita (Humble, Texas) held on for a 28-17 victory over
Spring (Texas) on Saturday. The difference for the Eagles was that they scored a touchdown.
After nabbing the lead on a
James Haley touchdown run, the Lions went into halftime with a 17-14 lead. The Eagles scored the winning points with a touchdown that came in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring zero points in the third, Atascocita still trailed by three points going into the fourth quarter. But 14 points in the fourth helped AHS pull out the victory.
The victory was a step in the right direction for the Humble school, which was coming off a 41-7 defeat at the hands of Westfield in its previous game. The loss was the third in a row for Spring.
Atascocita (4-1) will play a 5A Region II District 13 game against Klein Oak next week, while Spring (2-4) will take on Westfield also in a 5A Region II District 13 game.
