The Holliday Eagles entered their tilt with the City View Mustangs with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Holliday was the clear victor by a 47-22 margin over City View. Given Holliday's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 264th, while City View is ranked 628th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Holliday to victory were Parker Jones and Grant Cox. Jones gained 171 total yards and two touchdowns, while Cox threw for 295 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes. Jones was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 56 yards. Ashtyn Berry did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 89 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Holliday's win was their 11th straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 9-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 27.73 points. As for City View, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
Holliday will be playing in front of their home fans against Callisburg on Friday. Callisburg is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for City View, they will head out on the road to face off against S & S Consolidated at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. S & S Consolidated is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
