The Webster County Highlanders''s five-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They strolled past Calhoun with points to spare, taking the game 38-22. The win was just what Webster County needed coming off of a 64-36 loss in their prior match.
Webster County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaac Snyder led the charge by throwing for 131 yards and three touchdowns, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Bryson Lee and his 103 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Webster County's win.
Another reason for the win was Webster County's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Jackie Ferguson and his two sacks.
Webster County's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Calhoun, their defeat was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Webster County will take on Wirt County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wirt County is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Calhoun, they have the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Madonna at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
