Bayside is 2-8 against Sebastian River since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Bayside Bears will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Sebastian River Sharks at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bayside has four straight wins, Sebastian River has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Bayside will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run last Friday, then bounced right back against Brevard HEAT on Tuesday. Bayside blew past Brevard HEAT 15-1. That looming 15-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bears yet this season.

Alex Brzuchalski made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
In other pitching news, Austin Still looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
Back at the plate, Bayside got a massive performance out of Sam Welte, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Steven Soto, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Bayside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brevard HEAT only posted an OBP of .381.
Meanwhile, Sebastian River didn't have quite enough to beat Okeechobee on Friday and fell 3-2.
Thomas Villars was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. Those stolen bases were his first of the season.
Bayside pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs over those games. As for Sebastian River, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
Bayside might still be hurting after the 9-3 loss they got from Sebastian River in their previous meeting back in April of 2023. Can Bayside avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
