The Clovis North Broncos will play host again and welcome the Central Grizzlies, where kickoff is scheduled for 7:08 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Clovis North extended their postseason success on Friday against Clovis East. They secured a 34-28 W over the Timberwolves. 34 seems to be a good number for Clovis North as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Jackson Cinfel continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 255 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.8 yards per carry. Cinfel's longest rush was for an incredible 86 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Mario Cosma, who threw for 41 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.
Meanwhile, Central entered their tilt with Liberty with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Central took down Liberty 35-21 on Friday.
Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was David Marquez, who threw for 296 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Marquez has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Braylen Hall, who picked up 153 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Clovis North has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 12-0 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.9 points per game. As for Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.
Clovis North was able to grind out a solid win over Central in their previous matchup back in October, winning 27-20. Does Clovis North have another victory up their sleeve, or will Central turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
