When it comes to explaining why Mt. Vernon lost, one person who can't be blamed is Navontae D nesbit jr.. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Marlin Price, who scored eight points.
Mt. Vernon's loss dropped their record down to 20-8. As for Manual, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 17-10 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Vernon will take on the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Manual, they will head out on the road to face off against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
