Basketball Recap: South Spencer Skates Past Apollo with Ease

On Monday, the South Spencer Rebels were fully in charge, breezing past the Apollo Eagles 53-21. The Rebels have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season.

South Spencer found their leader in sophomore Jaci Meece, who went 5 of 6 on her way to 13 points along with five assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kali Wink, who posted 11 points.

South Spencer smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

The win got South Spencer back to even at 6-6. As for Apollo, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

South Spencer will host Tell City at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. South Spencer has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Apollo, they will venture away from home to take on Campbellsville at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
