The Scotts Valley Falcons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They came out on top against St. Francis by a score of 75-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, St. Francis still got an impressive performance from Sam Braun, who went 7 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 41 points and 2 assists. Braun scored a full 63.1% of St. Francis' points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mario Zermeno, who scored five points.
Scotts Valley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season. As for St. Francis, they bumped their record down to 1-9 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scotts Valley will take on Aptos at TBD on Tuesday. One thing working in Aptos' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine matches. As for St. Francis, they will be playing at home against Alisal at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
