After three games on the road, Rochester is heading back home. They will take on the Winamac Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Rochester suffered a rough 42-16 loss at the hands of Tippecanoe Valley. Rochester has not had much luck with Tippecanoe Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Rochester's loss came about despite a quality game from Rylee Clevenger, who scored 10 points. Clevenger scored a full 62.5% of Rochester's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Winamac struggled with offensive rebounds on Saturday (Manchester had 800% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Winamac took a 64-48 bruising from Manchester.
Despite the loss, Winamac saw an underclassman step up: Marissa Iverson dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. Kandace Kroft was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Their wins bumped Rochester to 3-4 and Tippecanoe Valley to 7-1.
Keep an eye on the arc in Saturday's contest: Rochester have been dynamite from deep this season, having only made 35.4% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Winamac struggles in that department as they've only made 33.7% of theirs this season. Given Rochester's sizeable advantage in that area, Winamac will need to find a way to close that gap.
Everything went Rochester's way against Winamac in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 as Rochester made off with a 40-19 victory. Does Rochester have another victory up their sleeve, or will Winamac turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
