PARIS, Ill. - The defense contributed on the scoring end for
Central (Clifton, Ill.) on Saturday, totaling 12 points as the Comets beat Paris (Ill.) 62-0.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run in the first quarter, the Comets were up 48-0 at the half.
Central expanded its lead to 55 points entering the fourth quarter. CHS's lone score in the quarter came on a
Ben Toberman touchdown run.
A 34-0 Central victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The loss comes after Paris defeated Watseka 14-8 last week. The win brought Central's winning streak to three games. The loss broke Paris' two-game winning streak.
