When it comes to explaining why Blue River Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Charlee Gibson. Despite the final result, she scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Ella Schmidt was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Monroe Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Addy Puckett, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kimber Abshear, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
Blue River Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Monroe Central, they pushed their record up to 15-7 with that victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Blue River Valley will face off against the Golden Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cambridge City Lincoln is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
