The Butler Bulldogs''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 27-26 to Westside. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Butler in their matchups with Westside: they've now lost four in a row.
Jeanarion Kamga was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 184 yards and two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Westside's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Butler's QB won't forget Reonte Brown anytime soon given Brown sacked him five times.
Butler's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.5 points per game. As for Westside, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-5.
Butler will take on Josey at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Josey comes in on a streak of failing to score more than eight points in their last eight games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Westside, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Thomson at 7:30 p.m. Thomson is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.
