For the second straight game, Beckville will face off against Elysian Fields. The Bearcats will welcome the Yellowjackets at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Beckville has 11 straight victories, Elysian Fields has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Tuesday, Beckville made easy work of Elysian Fields and carried off a 13-4 win. The Bearcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by six runs or more this season.
Emily Grandgeorge and Hannah Rogers made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Grandgeorge didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Meanwhile, Rogers tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Grandgeorge has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. At bat, Grandgeorge went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Rogers went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Kalee Cameron was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Kaitlyn Mauritzen was another key player, going 1-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Beckville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 11 consecutive matchups.
Elysian Fields' loss dropped their record down to 12-14-1. As for Beckville, their victory bumped their record up to 19-3-1.
Beckville's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's contest. The Bearcats have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Elysian Fields, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Beckville continue to outrun the ball?
