Baseball Recap: Homer-Center Beats Summit Academy for Their Seventh Straight Victory

Homer-Center had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Saturday. They never let the Summit Academy Knights get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Brayden Rado was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Noah Turk, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Homer-Center hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive games.

Homer-Center pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Summit Academy, they are on a 24-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Coming up, Homer-Center will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against West Shamokin at 4:30 p.m. As for Summit Academy, they will take on Union Area at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Scotties have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
