Cimarron-Memorial is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Somerset Sky Pointe, who was ranked sixth at the time (Cimarron-Memorial was ranked 17th). The Spartans lost 3-0 to the Eagles on Thursday. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
While Cimarron-Memorial was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-16, 25-22.
Meanwhile, Bishop Gorman came up short against Basic on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Gaels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
While Bishop Gorman ultimately came up short, they really made Basic work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 25-20, 29-27, 25-19.
Despite the defeat, Bishop Gorman saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Nicholas Pasco had ten digs.
Bishop Gorman's loss dropped their record down to 9-16. As for Cimarron-Memorial, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-17.
