After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Marcellus, Cazenovia was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Solvay Bearcats with a sharp 12-3 win. With that victory, the Lakers brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.
Irie Gallerani made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Gallerani was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Sophie Wilmot was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March. The win got Cazenovia back to even at 6-6. As for Solvay, they dropped their record down to 2-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
