The Riverdale Warriors had to endure a ten-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 51-42 win over Blackman on Tuesday. The victory was just what Riverdale needed coming off of a 76-42 defeat in their prior contest.
Riverdale's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rashad Mitchell, who scored 14 points along with six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mitchell has scored all season. Waymon West was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two blocks.
Riverdale's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-17. As for Blackman, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverdale's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Green Wave at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Gallatin presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Warriors in Tennessee (the Green Wave are ranked 92nd, while the Warriors are ranked 278th). As for Blackman, they will head out on the road to take on the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
