It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Harvest Christian Academy Saints had no problem doing just that on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Johnson County Sports Association 70-20 at home. The win was nothing new for Harvest Christian Academy as they're now sitting on four straight.
It was another big night for Colin Rooney, who threw for 430 yards and six touchdowns while completing 82.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 108 yards and two touchdowns. Rooney really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Ellison, who gained 134 total yards and three touchdowns.
Despite the loss, Johnson County Sports Association saw an underclassman step up: Gael Montes de Oca rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown. Montes de Oca is on a roll when it comes to solo tackles, as he's now made six or more in the last three games he's played.
Harvest Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-5. As for Johnson County Sports Association, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
Harvest Christian Academy will face off against East Texas Homeschool Sports at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East Texas Homeschool Sports is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Johnson County Sports Association does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
