Cory-Rawson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dom Moon, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Old Fort came into Wednesday's game having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over St. Joseph Central Catholic on Wednesday. The Stockaders' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last four games.
Ryan Adelsperger made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Adelsperger was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 5-for-5 with four stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Andrew tackett was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. Old Fort is undefeated when TackeTT posts two or more runs, but 2-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Caiden Swecker, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run.
Old Fort was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Cory-Rawson's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Old Fort, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Cory-Rawson has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Old Fort struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
